Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn’t really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while. That’s because they were able to connect experiences they’ve had and synthesize new things.

We were born out of necessity —built from the mud, molded by resilience. R&D Contracting began when the world needed a contractor who cared. From day one, we’ve been grinding, learning, and building from the ground up. Tough beginnings taught us resilience and sharpened our skills fast. That’s when we discovered the joy of creating something meaningful out of nothing.
R&D stands for Rori & Dad—a name born out of love and legacy.
Founder Ashanti Hairston started this company to create a better life for his daughter, Aurora (“Ro”), and to show that honest, quality work still matters. What began as one dad’s mission to provide safe and beautiful spaces for local families has grown into a trusted full-service contracting and restoration company serving Northern Virginia, D.C., and Maryland. We’ve built our reputation on doing the right thing even when no one’s watching, and we’re proud to serve homeowners, real-estate professionals, and property managers who expect reliability and respect from their contractor.
